Amanda was born and raised in Upstate New York. She attended undergraduate college in Virginia, attending Mary Baldwin University and Virginia Women’s Institute for Leadership (the first all-female cadet corps). Amanda began her career as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force. After nearly ten years of military service, she transitioned to part time service to attend law school. She still serves in the Air Force Reserve. Amanda is a graduate of Mitchell Hamline School of Law and graduated through the first nationally recognized hybrid program. She holds additional certificates in Conflict Resolution specializing. Additionally, Amanda participated in the American Bar Association Negotiation Competition and Native Law Clinic. Amanda has practiced in multiple states and maintains licensure in Alaska and Minnesota. As an active-duty spouse and reserve officer Amanda brings extensive military experience to her practice areas. Amanda specializes in criminal law, domestic relations, tribal representation, general civil litigation, and dispute resolution.
Practicing Partner, Kris O. Jensen
Kris Jensen is a 5th generation Alaskan who graduated from law school in Michigan. Early on in life he won individual state championships for debate and public speaking and was part of the state champion Mock Trial Team for multiple years. He attended undergraduate school in Oregon, and law school in Michigan on a full scholarship. Kris has actively practiced in areas of domestic relations law for over ten years. He has handled cases in every judicial district in the State of Alaska, and he is especially familiar with questions involving the UCCJEA, imputation of income involving child support, contracts, relocation cases, domestic partnerships, multi-state jurisdiction questions, and civil litigation. His volunteer activities include: coaching for high school debate programs; LGBT-support work; and pro bono estate, housing, and domestic relations work through the Alaska Bar Association.
